Gator,
Got seperate tweeters for the holes on my 07 FX2. First they are to big. Does it require some "hole" modification? If so, what's the best way to go about it? Also, there is no where to pull the wire through in order to hook them up to anything? What to do?

What I did in my 04 was to take the door panel off and place a small board behind the door panel where the tweeter hole is. There are several other small holes in this area of the door panel. Take some small screws and screw them through the small holes and into the board. Make sure the board is behind the tweeter hole and securely fastened. Now you can use a hole saw to enlarge the tweeter hole by drilling into the board with the drill bit . As the drill bit pulls itself forward through the wood, he hole saw will eventually start to cut through the plastic. Just don't cut a hole through the wood and you can use the same board on both sides. If you are OCD like me you will want the holes in exactly the same spot. Just unscrew the board and attach it to the other side using the back of the board. This will line up the same two holes and place the center drill hole in the same place. Just insert the drill bit into the same hole and cut your second hole. Good luck and take your time.

For hole size just slide your tweeter into the hole saw without any mounting hardware. Try to get it snug. Hope this helps!

What do I need to make my system work with a new touch screen style head unit? I have a 08 Lariat with the audiophile sound system w/ Sirius as well as the rear DVD. The 6 disc changer in my head unit has stopped working and telling me it has a load error or no disc. I want to upgrade the head unit but dont want to lose the steering wheel controls, factory sub, or the rear entertainment. The radio controls a lot of the functions for it like setting it to single play or dual play to activate the head phones.

There is an easy way regarding the back seat removal. At the bottom right and left hand corner of the rear seat slide your hand behind the seat and push the plastic release piece. My back seat came right off. I struggled with it prior to finding out a different way.

Some may work depending on the vehicle you're taking them out of, but I don't think a shaker 500 8 would work.

Rather than use a hole saw, I just shaved a little with a razor blade and it did the trick. As far as the wire, the stock wires are clipped in and routed to the crossover on the mid:

If your talking about getting a second set of wires from the crossover into the door and you've got a Dearborn truck with molex connectors at the doors, that's a different story. I door mounted my crossovers to avoid having to drill out the jambs or connectors.

Harness to retain amp (includes the regular head unit harness): Metra 70-5521
Harness to retain DVD: PIE FRD04-DVD
Harness to retain Steering Wheel Controls: Metra/Axxess ASWC

These should work, but double check that they match the truck.
