Newbie for “new” car audio
Hey guys I’m new to the world of car audio now a days. I’ve hooked up many systems in the past though. Here’s my plan and it would help if someone could tell me if it’s right or not.
2016 f150 4 inch screen stock head unit
kappa 90csx front component set
kappa 62ix rear coax speakers
Subs are undecided but plan to be 100% ready for them
directed 2205 amp
I’m understanding I need the For-11ck harness. I see that it has rca outputs with it. Can I run rcas of the harness back to the amp with splitters for all my channels? It’s a 5 channel amp. I’m assuming not from what I’ve been reading because it will sound like trash so now I’ll cut the front left and right and tap it in to a Dayton 408. Next question with that is if I only do the front left and right does that power all rca outputs on the Dayton? From there if I’m correct I can run 3 sets of rcas to my amp and power front, rear, and sub. From there I plan on running speed wire back up front to the For-11ck harness again to tap into the stock wiring for doors. I will use the front speaker wires and tap into my crossover and for the woofer I’ll use the stock wiring but tweeter I will run new wire to the pillars. If I have a crossover in my component set do I have to get rid of the factory one somehow? Am I on the right track so far or am I completely wrong with this lol?!

I build custom plug and play harnesses so you don't have to think about the wiring. Hit me up on email if interested. That harness you keep talking about is old news and has issues.

I think overall you're on the right track with all the wiring question in reference to the wiring and front speakers. You can use a dayton 408 on the front speaker signal. You use that to create your eq changes, three pairs of RCA outs for your 5ch amp, and then use speedwire to get the amplified speaker connections back to the dash area. You use the stock wiring for your mids and run new tweeter wires. You don't have to worry about any factory crossovers on the front speaker wiring... just leave the factory tweeter wire unplugged in the A-pillar. The directed amp must be an older unit you're reusing. The 4 channel section is class A/B which is ok, but it may run hot, especially if its crammed behind a truck seat running at 2.5ohm. IMHO 600 rms is not enough power for subs either. I dont know that brand, but there is a reasonable chance it wont do rated power. Something like this roughly doubles your head room in the amp department.. https://www.down4soundshop.com/down4...nel-amplifier/ I used a for-11ck harness without an issue, but hush sells a competing harness.
