Looking for opinions on the pre-made speaker boxes from car audio factory or super crew sound? (are they any good?) I was at my local car toys and they want to build me an almost exact replica for something like $400 plus materials. They tried to downplay the pre-made ones and referring them to junk. I'm sure it's to make their installers money so they can "build one" as I can't see how much you improve among the design with such limited space.


Is their some truth in what they are telling me or am I getting scammed?

They're in no way Junk. Some subwoofer need more space than others to perform at their ideal level.

The prefab stuff is usually 5/8 MDF and not put together very well. I have no doubt that the shop will build you a higher quality box than most prefab. Worth $400? That's up to you to decide

Got mine on EBay. great deal, fits great, sounds awesome with my 10in MB Quart sub.....
