Default 2003 Speaker Size?

I am curious what the front and rear speaker size is in the doors because i would like to replace them. Also any other tips regarding this truck's sound system and precautions?
Thanks

They should work, just watch your depth.

Why do you want to go to 6x9? The better step up sound quality wise would be 6 1/2" components IMO.

See i actually disagree. 6 1/2 speakers have less mid range sound and less RMS usually. I can spend $130 on 2 6x9 infinity kappas that are 110w RMS or i can spend the same on 6 1/2 speakers that are 75w RMS.
I have 6x9's in my car and they are extremely loud, some people have had to get out of my car cause it scared the crap out of them lol
6 1/2's are good i have two in the front in my car and they are pretty loud, just less quality imo

While you'll get some lower frequency extension with the 6x9s, the oval cone and the coaxial design will cause more distortion at high power in the mid range when compared to a round set of components. The frequency extension is a definite benefit for the 6x9s in a system without a subwoofer, but, with a sub, a component system will have less distortion and will have a flatter frequency response curve - this is where my sound quality comment comes from.

If you're going for spl/volume, I completely agree with you. Since the 6x9s have higher rms wattage and sensitivity, they will be louder.

Yeah i agree, if you get some high grade 6 1/2's they sound very nice. I have a sub also, and it all seems to work really well and really loud. I have amazing sound quality also, but that is because im running the sub and speakers off separate amps so the 6x9's dont distort. At least in my system they dont, and if they do it is because it is up way to loud lol. I am going to go deaf

Default Factory Replacement Speakers

6 x 8 or 5 x 7's are the factory size. Their is a good market for them, I have 6 x 8 pioneer in front and back with a pioneer head unit. It does the job and then some, no problem.
