I guess your right about that... i blew my alternator in my explorer before someone hit me... it was an 05 4.0L... now i got an 06 5.4 haha bigger engine, must have bigger alternator

i would install a cap, like jazar said, its a minimal cost to lesson a more constly alternator replacement later. Not to say that your going to "Kill" your battery on that rms but again, you can get a cheapy off ebay for 40 bucks, you spend that back and forth to store a week in these f150's lol.

will i need a cap? right now im running a pioneer 760 watt max power amp with a 10" alpine type r.. this amp was perfect for my old 10" mtx thunder 5500 but with this type r it is way under powered. my amp is rated at 380 watts rms at 4 ohms and the type r can go up to 500 watts rms so im going to a 1200 watt hifonics brutus amp. will i need a cap with the new amp?
