Box is installed. It's a darn tight fit. No doubt there.
There is a clear channel for air travel from the middle opening where the safety belt channel runs. For the fiberboard cover, the easy option is to trim the old one and re-install. I will have some custom panels made for the back to help with more sound deadening.

It is actually 5/8 mdf. It's totally fine - just use some extra bracing. You aren't running a 12 W7. It's pushing plenty of air, but you'll be just fine.

As it might be worth a little wrap up. I picked up the truck a few days ago. I'm still tinkering with everything, but it's pretty amazing. Doesn't seem to have any heat/resistor needs or issues.
We ended up leaving the center channel hooked up... it sure makes the front stage like a stage. I'm not totally convinced it's for me.
My installer used a full RTA and did balance, time alignment, and a full eq. With perfect musical material, it's amazing.
Where I get to mess with the eq is for the FM radio, compressed satellite radio, etc. I just need to get it where I like it.
We abandoned the flimsy back panel behind the seats for a custom one that has a ton of foam and sound deadener. Makes everything look super clean and buttoned up tight. Still have FULL use and articulation of the back seat, the stock location for the tire equipment, etc. I only gave up that small storage tray to put amps. The DSP is actually under the driver seat, and a smaller 2 channel amp for the rear doors under the passenger seat.
This is a mid-range install - yes, it's more than the basics, but it's not full blown.

Just a quick overview (correct if I'm wrong):
- You tapped the front tweet and mid signal.
- Left the rears and center connected.
- Disconnected sub signal obviously.
Please do keep us posted as you said so far no issues with needing resistors, I'm very interested to see how it turns out. Perhaps keeping the center connected is what is avoiding this issue.

I'd really like in information for that back wall carpet. I have a custom amp panel mounted on mine and it takes up a lot of space so I can't really put the oem carpet back on.

I had the center channel plugged in, but it really made things a little too surround sound-ish for me, so I just disconnected it. I like it better... Just personal taste.
So far, no resistors needed. I am keeping an eye on heat. I think the dsp creates enough load to keep things at bay (at least I hope so).

1/4 mdf that has been carpeted and reliefed for some of the curves. The boxes are actually formed of metal. Everything covered in a 1/4" closed cell foam and dynamic on the back wall for sound deadening.
It's made from a couple pieces.
