This is true. I swapped out Sundown SD3 with Audiofrog GB10D4, big difference.

I think moving the jack is no big deal. I also kept telling myself that I had to have the sub behind the seat and I'm starting to wonder why. As long as all the components are behind the seat and I can just unplug the sub. I don't know why I care. I have 3 carseats in the backseat and would have to plan to remove them anyways. To use the space. I would just remove the sub. The only thing is that i like a clean look. I may rethink my sub location. I think I'm making an unnecessary challenge of going begging the seat. If I can get a better sounding sub under the seat I may do so.

If you have 3 car seats. The leg room in the rear is not being used most probably. Why don't you put a removable box between center console and rear seat. That is how I have it.

I totally love that center console box. I would love a 10w7 right there, let there be no mistake.

That being said, at least for me, we use every inch of space in that back row -including underneath the seats. 2 kids, a dog, toys, coats, snacks, backpacks.... You name it.

I am fortunate to be able to take that mini storage tray to be my amp rack. But, the sub has to go behind my seat.

My SD3 should be here today. You weren't happy with yours?

If you are really open to not having behind the seat, you have ALOT of options to consider.

You could install a LMI seat lift kit that raises the seat 2.5". You could probably put a pair of JL 8W7's forward facing in a ported box that would sound pretty bad *****.

SD3 is very good for a semi-shallow sub. Need lot of power I would say at least 600 Watts. But the AF is in different league, but it also cost 3x of Sundown.

I have a RF 500X1D right now. If it's not enough I may go a little bigger. The birth sheet on it shows around 620 watts rms so hopefully it's big enough.

That's what I am running for my SD3 12" and so far so good! Same thing, birth sheet showed 627 watts.

I saw your post and got excited. From what i've read the SD3 sounds amazing. I know they are designed for SQ and small sealed enclosures but i've been tossing around the idea of running mine ported and trying to get the best of both worlds. Still haven't decided.
