'13 XLT w/ 4.2LCD & Sync - Cleansweep questions
Hello All,
I have a few questions for ya'll. I'm going to start the install in my 2013 XLT SCrew w/ the 4.2" LCD. Will I need the SSI unit for my cleansweep? I'm replacing all stock speakers and adding the following:
- JL Cleansweep
- MTX Thunder 7804 4-Channel Amp
- MTX 6500D Mono Block Amp
- Rockford Fosgate 10 Farad Cap
- (4) Infinity Kappa 6829CF
- (1) 12" Kicker L7 in Custom Center Console I'll be making
- Dynamat Extreme throughout followed by SS Luxury Liner Pro
Thanks for the help, would like to have everything before I start the install so I dont have to worry about having a non working stereo or tearing things down to install something new.

Take a look at the RF 3Sixty.3. You prolly won't need the Cleansweep after either.

You can order them from Sonic, they get a few in every week. Make an offer, do NOT pay the advertised price. I got mine for $429 immediately upon presentation of my bid.

I already got the cleansweep, paid $95 bucks for it, i'll just hook it all up and if it needs the SSI then i'll order that for $90. Would rather pay $185 as opposed to $430 for the RF 3Sixty3. Thanks for the recommendation though.

Where did you get a Clean Sweep for $95.00?

I was fortunate to pick up both the ssi and dsp for $150 brand new I've got the sony system but I ran it without the ssi and dsp for a few weeks and it was awful.
does your truck have the tweeters in the pillars? it looks like you are going to run the infinity's in all doors (i have the same one in my rear doors and they sound great). That being the case, I would try and connect the front and rears to the dsp and see if you get all green lights on the 4 channels. If you don't then you will need the ssi to fix the front signal as the rear is full frequency.
because I have the sony I ran my front tweeters to "A", front door to "B" and rear doors to "C" on the SSI. after some playing around I settled on 2way mode with front door going to "A" and rear door going to "C" and not having the tweeter connected at all. In that configuration, that gave me great balanced sound with very minimal distortion.
I will say, before installing the cleansweep my system was hiss/distortion free and afterwards I had a huge hiss problem. turns out the tweeter channels connected was part of the problem. The ssi has to be cranked so much to balance it was just adding distortion. with the doors i was able to have the dsp volume **** up to about 90% before I could hear any hiss.
Sorry if this got wordy, hope it helps

@ TK5 - eBay, sold something and eBay gave me a $50 gift certificate so I used it for the cleansweep.
@ KMaximus - Sweet install! I just have the basic system, i do have the tweeters but I think since I dont have the "premium" stereo/speakers i'm hoping they are all full range so I wont need the SSI. Wanted to get started this weekend on the install but looks like it might have to wait till next week.
Thanks for the help

thanks F150Newbie24, let us know what you find out when connecting the cleansweep dsp. That will be the benefit, after it's all connected, 25 seconds and you'll know if you are getting full range thanks to those blinky lights

Maximus, got a quick question for you. Did you run the wires from the JL Cleansweep to each door speaker? I'm thinking of running two sets of spear wire, one set from speakers to amp, then the second set from the factory wiring back to the JL connections. How did you do your install?

I follow the model you are thinking about doing. With the sony system, the amp and all the speaker wiring is under the center console in the truck. I ran 2 groups of wires: "Input to CL" and Output to "existing speaker wire". Check out the wiring diagram and pictures and see if that helps. ultimately the 2 wire groups worked as extensions to the back wall.
for reference in the pictures I used 8 conductor wire bundles to keep it clean.
