Default '13 F-150 XLT w/ Sync, non Sony, non Nav - Do I need summing from HU?

Good day boys & girls,

I have the audio package with Sync & the 4.2" LCD, tweeters in the A-Pillars, but not the Sony package and no subwoofer. I'm looking at replacing the components, replacing the rear coaxials and adding a sub or two under the rear seat. My question is...

Do I need something like the AudioControl LCQ-1 with, not only the summing capabilities, but also the equalization and bass correction for the bass roll off or not? My factory audio didn't have a subwoofer, so I'm thinking the HU is not acting as a crossover and dividing my signal like it does in the Sony systems with the factory sub. Is that correct?

If I don't need the bass correction or equalization feature I can get away with just a LOC like the AudioControl LC6i, right? I can run from the LC6i to the amps, then to my speakers and subs, correct?

Thank you VERY MUCH for the help!

All of the speakers are driven with a full range signal. You can just use LOC.
I tapped the tweets, took it to a LOC, then amp, and use it to power my sub.
Works fine.
