Default 12's or 15's

first sound system ive put in a truck before, i need a little advice. as far as speakers, head unit, and amps i got all that decided for the most part. and for subs ive decided on two T1's. the problem is i cant decide between 12's or 15's. a few guys said get the 15's, a bunch of guys gave me a crazy look, said itd be "too much", and to only get 12's. i would settle for the 12's, but the way i usually see things is if i can afford bigger, louder, etc., then why not do it? i dont usually have a problem with what most of my friends refer to as "too much". sorry for the long first post, i dont completely know what all the differences are in a 12" and a 15" sub. could i get a little advice?

12's are going to give you a much more accurate "hit" and sound tighter than the 15's...the 15's are gonna give you super low bass and won't have the accuracy of say a 10" or 12" sub...two 15's would give you some crazy *** bass...my buddy has two 12's and it bumps HARDD...the air inside his truck actually changes and you can't even talk to each other its so loud...as for me...I'm getting either a 10" or 12" sub...one sub is good enough for me and its all I can afford...it will still hit nicely and give off good bass...anyways good luck

i had 2 10 inch kicker comps in mine with 2 cubic feet a piece in a vented box. gave me crazy lows and tigher mids and highs. my system was louder and sounded higher quality than my friends 12 inch infinitys. 15s are just too much. my sisters bf has 2 15" l7s and 2 1500 watt mono block amps... useless because its too loud to where it sounds ****ty but damn itll blow the windows out lol

i had a buddy in highschool that had a 98 silverado..... he took the backseat bottom out, made a custom box that went the whole length of the seat back and wrapped the box in leather and padding on the top lol..... truck hit hard as a mother ****** but he still had his backseat! haha
