Default 10' F150 XLT Speaker Replacement Recommendations

Just got my XLT that has sync. I do not want to put a new head unit in it but I do want to replace the speakers to give a louder/clearer sound. I am also looking for a little more bass at higher volumes that the stock speakers offer. From what I have read, some aftermarket speakers actually cause a loss of bass. I do not want that.

Would like to hear from everyone who has swapped out speakers and kept everything else stock. Thanks for your time.

It's hard to really gauge a set of replacement coaxials solely on specs you see online, but for your needs look for a set with a high sensitivity, preferably greater than 90 dB. A speaker with a greater sensitivity will be louder at the same power level than one with a lower sensitivity. A lower frequency response should help with bass reproduction, but this isn't going to be cut and dry.

I installed Infinity Kappa Components in the front and Coax in the rear and amped them with a Kappa four amp. Just the speakers alone made a nice improvement with the stock radio but amping them made all the difference. I still want to add a 10" to fill in the bottom end.
I would recommend the Infinity Kappas and a small amp maybe 50 x 4 RMS. The kappa four is a bit of an overkill at 125 x 4 but for the price I got it for nothing else would compete.

I replaced mine with Polk audio DB571. I got them from crutchfeild for 150$ for all four. They had a deal buy one set get another half price. They came with great directions and they also came with adapters so no splicing. They sound alot better now.

So it was a noticeable upgrade sound wise with everything else staying the same? I want to upgrade my stock speakers too without doing anything else but I want to make sure I can hear the difference.

JBL makes some solid products. Amazon has their GTO 5x7/6x8s for ~$67 a pair.
