Default 09+ Anyone add an extra Battery?

Hey all, I've got a 2011 FX4 and I'm going to need an extra battery (and upgraded alternator) to run my stereo and I was just wondering if anyone has added one? If so have you got pics of where and how you mounted it? Thanks!

Im pretty sure the stock alternator is a 220amp (in the ecoboost anyway) so unless your running a significant setup I would start with the big 3 upgrade and extra battery first. I just completed the big three and plan to put an extra battery in my bed toolbox. Couldnt find anywhere to put it under the hood (redtop).

My setup is 3 amps. Fosgate BD1000 mono driving 3 12" shallows, Alpine PDX6 on midbass drivers, and Alpine PDX4 for tweets/midranges/rear fill. Im still getting allot of dimming with the system turned up even after doing the big 3. Will see how much the 2nd battery helps before dropping $$$$ on a new alt.

Ya, I will be doing the big 3 for sure. And I plan on doing the 2nd battery first too. So hopefully you're right and I won't need to upgrade my alternator. I'll be running 2 amps. DC Audio 175.4 will be running four sets of RE Audio XXX components, and a DC Audio 3.5k is going to be on 4 M2Lvl2 8" DC Audio subs.

Trust me you dont need to upgrade you alt, i had a compedition stereo 10,000 watts in a 2009 mazda 3 with just a external battery and a big capacitor and it didnt dim my lights, as long as its properly installed you will have no problems at all with just a batter and cap.
