Default 08 screw 2nd battery install help

Ok, I'm having stereo shop install subs, amp, and head unit Monday next week. I'll be installing a front component set and amp later on.

I'm unsure if a second battery or capacitor is the best choice so I guess that would be my first question.

Secondly, if the 2nd battery is the way to go, I want to use an isolator which will allow me to start the truck if primary battery is dead. which isolator do I choose then; diode or solenoid?

Then, if someone could give me a straight forward tutorial on install is be forever in your debt. Thank you all greatly for your help in advance.

And where do I tap into ignition wire to power the relay? I've heard of something called "add a circuit"

We need lots more info.
-what subs, how many
-what amp, how many ohms will you be running it at
-what speakers and amps do you plan on adding later.

All in all Capacitors are a waste of money.

IF you actually need another battery, I would look into something like this: http://www.kinetikpower.com/2009/default.asp
but again, that depends on a lot of other factors as listed above.

Remote turn on wire you should be able to get off the back of the new head unit, most of them have a remote turn on lead.

Capacitors are NOT completely a waste of money... I have a 5 farad hybrid with a 1000.1 amp and my lights DONT dim... But the better option would be dual batteries.. Yellow tops or that other deep cycle battery that was on a previous thread..

I ran a dual battery setup in my expedition with 4 amps.. Upgraded alternator ect...

My advice is do dual batteries.. You'll be happy.. I didnt do it because i was lazy and didnt want to move stuff around to mount the tray..

No no, remote for the 2nd battery relay.

I'm unsure of the amp they'll be using. The subs are Hertz Shallow mount 10's. If I am asking questions like this, do you really think I would know what ohms they'll be running at? Lol. I'm car audio dumb

I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about car audio so I just wanna make sure I don't have any light dimming or other underpowering problems in the future. I'll be adding HID's at some point more than likely as well

Keep it simple... I had Photos of what it would look like and what you would need... Lost my phone a few days ago...

Fuse block and 0ga wiring..

So you're saying no solenoid at all? I've pretty much got the grasp of installing a second battery. However, do I use a fuse for the remote wire to the solenoid?

That and how do I choose the right battery and size battery for my auxiliary battery?
