Default question on dash kit

Hey guys, I bought an 08 XLT SCAB 4x4 last week and installed a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT the next day. I got a killer deal on it from BestBuy for $350, I could have found it cheaper on line as it's last years model but with shipping and waiting for it I couldn't beat it. It doesn't have bluetooth streaming of music but the iPhone is always plugged in to charge it so I don't care.

But either way I bought a Metra install kit for Double Din head units. The kit fits good in the opening in the dash but fits like **** on the radio itself. I'm not sure if it's because metra makes ****ty kits or if the pioneer HU is just a strange size.

So anyone running this HU, the 3200DVD, or the new model (same chassis size) with the same issue and if not what install kit did you use?
Thanks

X2.
I had a Metra dash kit, it was just ok.
Ordered the Scosche to replace it.

Good luck!

I have the same unit and used a scosche kit and had to shim it to fit flush. It wanted to tip down. I actually used a couple of pieces I cut off the mounting bracket to shim it and it fit perfect.

blacknback urs looks to be offset to the left just like mine. I'm not reffering to the fit of the dash to the install kit but the install kit to the HU. I don't like the look of it. I'm used to it now I guess.

If I cared enough I would get a dremel out and make it perfect, but I just don't anymore.

i havnt seen any kit fit perfect on a 04-08 with a double din, the main reason is the angle of the dash and the weight of the double din, it pulls down and tweaks the angle, i had the same problem before i went back to a regular single din deck

It must be the angle of the pic. It's actually a perfect fit. Maybe you could try a scosche kit. They're not expensive at all.
