YUP, I'm the FNG.
Hello Ford World!
I have been an owner of many vehicles. Here is the list thus far:
1987 Pontiac Bonneville
1989 Dodge Daytona
1989 Jeep Cherokee
1997 Pontiac Firebird
1998 GMC Jimmy
2004 Dodge Durango
2004 Nissan Titan
2010 Chevy Silverado 1500
2011 Ford F150 Ecoboost XLT (Crew Cab, 4x4)
The most recent being my first ever Ford, I purchased it today 02/12/2014. I traded in my 2010 Silverado. I only had the Silverado for 10 months, which is the least amount of time that I have owned a vehicle. I didn't have any issues with the Silverado, just wanted a more technologically advanced piece of machine. The Silverado is pretty plain Jane compared to the newer Ford's.
So, I am generally not scared of high mileage vehicles and usually seek them out to get a great deal. My 2010 Silverado had 110k on it when I bought it, and I paid about 5k off what it blue booked at. The F150 has 101,000 miles on it. I am a little nervous about that considering it is a new engine with new technology. The engine runs strong and transmission shifts well, but I'm still a little nervous. The blue book (with the high mileage) says the truck is work $25k. I paid $21,500 for it. I had them throw in a new set of tires with an alignment. So that leads me to some questions:
1. Do you think it was a mistake buying a high mileage Ecoboost?
2. Did I get the vehicle for a good price?
3. Who has the highest reported mileage on this forum to date?
Anyway, this post is my very first and wanted to start it off right. Nice to meet you all and look forward to chatting.

I had no issues with the proven 5.3 liter Chevy, I just thought the truck was two plane. There is more room in the back of the Fords. I am into the electronics like Microsoft Sync, so I decided to switch. I would have purchased the Ford originally, but I could not find an Ecoboost in my price range. I hear the 2013 and up Silverado's have a lot more technology than the older ones, but you will pay.. Good luck on your purchase.

Welcome to the forum. You can learn a lot on the website. I have had chevys and they ride nice. I just feel the F150 is a tougher truck. If you look at Alaskan State Troopers TV program, the only vehicles you see are Ford F150, Explorers, and one time a Dodge car.

I wonder if they have ecoboost.. My local police department is switching to the Police Interceptor non-ecoboost.
