Default What's happening Ya'll

Figured I'd make my first post the introduction. My name is Shane and I live in Lacey, WA. I've been in the Air Force for 15 years and I'm a loadmaster on the C-17 Globemaster III. I have an 05' Lariat Super Crew. Here are some dealership photos. I'll take some better pictures once the weather here clears up. That should be around June LOL

Hey thanks for all the warm welcomes. I'm getting ready to price out a lift with new wheels and tires and hopefully have them put on next weekend. I'm thinking of going with a 6" Fabtech lift with 20" Moto Metal 951s and 35/12.5/20 Nitto Mud Grapplers. Can anybody foresee any issues that I might run into with this setup? Again, thanks for all the warm welcomes!

Welcome to the boards.

Active duty Navy myself (21 years now). Nice looking truck you got there and you're right about waiting until June for it to clear up. I was stationed up in Bremerton, WA on a carrier up there in 97-98. Beautiful place, but too cloudy and rainy for me, but those 2 weeks of sunshine in the summer are very nice.

Sounds like you have a great setup planned. I choose different wheels, but only because it seems like 90% of the F150's out there have the MM 951's on them. The tires will probably be a little loud driving on the road, but should serve you well in the winters up there. What gears do you have in the truck? You don't need to regear it, but you may want to after adding the lift and larger tires because you will lose some power in the truck. You'll also need to adjust your shift points and recalibrate your speedo after getting the lift/tires. Your dealership can do it for a small fee or the best way to do it is to get a tuner and some custom tunes. I highly suggest an Xcal II or III and Troyer custom tunes.

You will also need an AAL or larger block in the rear to level the truck out completely. But other than that the plan sounds great!

I'm a newb to the whole truck scene so could you explain exactly what you're referring to? I understand the loosing power bit, but how exactly do find out what gears I have. On a side note I was up in Bremerton at Parr Ford shopping for a truck and was absolutely fed up with their salesmen. I finally left and went down to Puyallup and bought it instead. LOL
