I don't know how old you are but I found that after the first 10 years the second 12 went by in a flash. Other than that what are your skills? MOS? If you are in a technical field it's a plus. Also if you haven't done so already get a college education on Uncle Sam. Hope this helps.
I too am retired AF and I second EVERYTHING Sluggo had to say. It's scary how quickly the second 10 years went by and I do miss it (there was tremendous job satisfaction dropping 2000 lb'rs on towellheads). The civilian world can be nerve racking -- there's no such thing as job security. Also "burnout" happens in the civilian world much quicker IMO. Of all of the things I've accomplished in my life, being able to say that I put in "20 years" is the one I'm most proud of. Hang in there.

Retirement these days isn't as great as it used to be. Now, it's half pension after 65 if I'm not mistaken.

I'm a State Prison Corrections Officer here in the Keystone State of Pennsylvania. Lived in Eastern North Carolina for 10 years, four as a Marine at Camp LeJeune & eight as a civilian in Washington, before moving back home to the Pittsburgh area.
