Soon to be f150 owner.
Hi everyone been doin alot of reading on here and it has been great! I have a snow plowing company east of cleveland oh. I am looking to get rid of my 14 chevy 2500 for a new screw. I won't be doin alot of towingore of just a commute to for my self and kids. Question is I have found a 5.0 sport and a 3.5 sport. What would u guys pick? Both have 3.55 axle. Looking for good fuel economy . Dealer said the seems motors are close mpg.

In the new body style the 2.7 or 3.5 will be just fine for your needs assuming you are pulling less than 10k lbs. The 2.7 with a good tune is consistently averaging gas mileage in the mid 20's. From the factory the little 2.7 is putting out 375 ft.Lb of torque and getting rave reviews. The 3.5 is even beefier with a good tune seeing dyno torque numbers in excess of 600ft.lbs TO THE WHEELS.
The 5.0 is equally an excellent motor and many drivers have no issue hauling 9k with the 3.55 or 3.73. Ive been driving the 5.0 new since 2012 with zero issues and its a wonderful little motor. Good luck with your choice and welcome to the family!

I was in the same situation as you. Read on some of the real world fuel eco levels on that 2.7. Remember that you'll have twin turbos to maintain. How well will that 2.7 run with 150k+ miles (we'll see). Will the 5.0 will hold resale value better. Do you do your own maintenance ?
