Default In the shop with hail damage!

Hello all;

Looking forward to all the good info here on this forum. Two weeks ago Austin got hit by a big hail storm. My new F150 XLT is in the driveway because the garage is to small and got hit - $6K to fix it up. Hope to have it in the shop this week. Glad my insurance is covering all but $200!

I have already installed a K&N dry air kit and Flowmaster dual exhaust. A tuner kit from 5Star is on its way and I will put in a Boss 302 air intake as soon as I recover from all the hail damage to my house - that insurance wasn't so great and I'll need $3K to cover those repairs. So maybe a lot later in the year before th boss gets installed.

If you want a tuner for your truck 5Star still gives this forum a discount at check out. Use f150forum15 for the coupon.

What year is your truck? If it's a 2015 I would be curious to see the before and after pictures. I'm curious on the new aluminium body how they handle hail damage.

My body shop says the hood on a 2014 is also aluminium, in any case they are replacing it. It's a black truck so pics are hard to see. Hail was 1/2 to 3/4 inch in size and it looks like a hammer was taken to the hood. The roof actually looks to have a lot less damage as its ribbed.

Makes me curious about the roof on the 2015 and if it would need to be replaced. Good luck with your claim and I hope the truck comes out looking great!

Default Trucks back from the shop

Can't even tell where the hail damage was. They even got the blue metal flake just right. Anyone in Austin looking for a great body shop call Oak Hill paint and body!

Also got my X4 SCT tuner in and will be posting in that part of the forum once I play with it some. Next month I'm planning on installing the Boss 302 intake manifold kit from 5Star so I'll also be posting that when it's done.
