Default Seriously considering a 2014 F-150

Hello,

Just signed up as part of my research into purchasing a 2014 F-150. Currently driving a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and I've come to see how it's not as useful to me as a truck would be. It's the Unlimited model, but it still isn't very good for hauling anything inside of it or towing anything but a small trailer.

I was seriously looking at the 4 door wrangler and ended up with the F150 crew cab instead. Unless you're using the offroad capabilities of the Jeep, the F150 with give you more flexibility. I really like the look of the Jeep but for me it came down to function.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Don't get me wrong, I've really enjoyed my Jeep Rubicon Unlimited, it's been fantastic in the snow this winter. It's just that a truck would be so much more practical for me. What's funny is that a new F-150 may get better gas mileage than the Jeep. I've only been getting at most 19 or 20 mpg with the Jeep.

Thought about doing just that, but I figured Ford will have raised the prices to along with the 2015's. More aluminum means higher cost and therefore high price for the customer???

I read that they are keeping very close if not the same pricing. They are cutting into their profit margin now in hopes for a large return down the road. But with that being said, love my 2014!

Welcome from SoCal. I'd wait on the 2015 until they figure out how to fix the paint peeling problems they're already seeing on the aluminum.

Where did you hear this? I've heard of it on other vehicles, but nothing about paint problems on the 2015's. Don't forget that they will likely warranty the paint for 10 years.

I've always stayed away from purchasing the first year of any new model, especially motor vehicles.
