Not sure why I didn't come here sooner...
Thought I would stop by and say hi.
Wish I would have found this place sooner, it would have been helpful year's ago.
Anyway I have been a Ford owner for years. First one was a Festiva, a go cart with doors. Wrecked it and sent it to the scrap yard.
First truck was a 1965 F-100 4 on the floor and a big block 428. Loved that truck. Simple, fun to drive, and all kinds of power, but drank gas like there was a hole in the tank. Sold it to fund a newer model that was a bit more practical. Sill to this day regret selling the 65.
So the next was a 93 F-150 XLT 302 4X4 standard cab with an 8 foot box. I think I had that one for about 5 years. It was used when I got and had about 110,000 when I traded it in for my 1999 F-150 Lariat 5.4L. Super cab short box. Got it at 27,000 miles, I had it for 12 years. Loved that truck! Did everything we ever asked her to do. Towed 12,000 lbs with it on several occasions. Frame deep mud, tank trails of Fort McCoy, and then some. Never been stuck with her. Things started to go bad pretty frequently. The one thing that was reliable was motor. It ran strong and smooth right up to the point I traded her in at 200,000 miles.
Got my very first brand new vehicle ever about a month ago. A 2013 F-150 5.0L XLT, 4X4 super cab with the 6'6" box. It's like driving on a cloud. Great power, lots of gadgets. I like gadgets... Tow package with the brake controller. It's a dream to drive and fun. Love the deep throaty sound.
I haven't done a lot to it yet, just Line-X bed liner, Access Lite Rider tonneau cover, and tailgate seal. Next on the docket is wireless led bed lighting, automatic tailgate lock, and my own custom made bed extender. It's going to be nice out tomorrow so some of it will get done then.
Well that's pretty much my story as it relates to my trucks. See everyone on the board.
Thanks
Todd
