Not a noob...
Well, a noob to this forum, but not a noob to Fords. I've had two F 250's and two F 150's counting the one I bought this week.
I finally had to say goodbye to my 1998 F 250. It had stage 4 cancer in the rocker panels, cab corners, door bottoms, all four bed corners, and the bed rails. I've had it for about 9 years and it was a faithful old dog.
On to the new kid on the block....a 2007 F 150 short bed with a 4.2 V6. I never thought I would buy a V-6 in a truck, but my trusted advisor at our local Ford dealer had a lot of good things to say about it, and I think this will do everything I need it to do. I have a 6X12 trailer that I will be occasionally towing with a 1,100 pound mower on it, making the total towed weight about 2,500-3,000 pounds or so.
It has 147,xxx miles on it, and I've put a few hundred on it since I bought it, and it seems to be quite a good performer so far.
I am also looking for any advice on ways to add moderate improvement to hp gains. Yeah, I know, buy a bigger motor, etc....but I'm sure there are a few tweaks that can be done to a stock set up to gain a little bit of extra go-power when needed (I just can't leave well enough alone!).
Anyway, here's my starting point...In Indiana, everybody has a white vehicle in the winter
