Hi!
May I introduce myself..... Call me Mobilman44, and I'm a 72 year old retired financial guy from the oil bizzness, having worked in Illinois, Kentucky and mostly Texas. I've lived just north of Houston for the last 36 years now.
I've been a car nut since I was a kid. All the vehicles I've owned have been Fords, except for 2 Chevys and 1 Pontiac. My first Ford was a 57 Fairlane 500 ragtop with the 312 cu in "Thunderbird" motor. Since then there have been a lot of Torino's, one hot 5.0 Mustang, a 4.0L Ranger supercab, a couple Explorer Sports, three Escapes, an Explorer and a new Edge that the wife drives.
My last three vehicles have been Escapes. The current 2016 2.0 Eco is fast and nimble and super easy to drive, but it is too small for my backside. And, given we are surrounded by full size pickups and SUVs down here, its obvious I would be the big loser if I ever got hit.
So.... in mid August I ordered a 2017 F150 XLT Supercab with the 2.7 eco motor and a lot of bells and whistles. The truck was produced on 11/15, but has sat at the Dearborn lot due apparently to production problems with the the 3.5L w/10 speeds. Hopefully my truck will ship out soon.
Gotta say, I haven't been this anxious to get a new vehicle since that '89 5.0 Mustang...........
That said, I'm looking forward spending a lot of time on this forum!
