Default New Member - New Truck

Hey! Just bought (pick it up Monday) a new white F150 5.0 Super Crew 4x4. It has the 302A pack. I'm pretty excited. I'm getting out of a 2012 Nissan Titan, which in all fairness was good to me, but was getting long in the tooth (250 000km). I decided to switch to Ford, they were running a good deal with their Employee Pricing sale, and my first truck was a Ford (new 98 way back when...) and I always missed it.

Hopefully I have good luck with the new one. I really like all the technology that are going into these things nowadays. The only gripe I have so far coming from the Nissan - is that Ford still doesn't include spray in bed-liner standard from the factory.

Anyway, that's my long winded "Hello"

I originally wanted the Ford spray-in liner, but since I missed the opportunity to order my truck, my dealer had to find one in Ontario that met my needs. They found a truck that matched what I wanted, but it didn't have the spray-in liner. They sent it out to get a Line-X liner.

I watched a Youtube video from Line-X, showing the removal of a Ford spray-in liner vs. the Linex liner. I am happy I got the Line-x.

Just picked it up amd got home. Here are a couple pics. It was built with 20's but I had the dealership swap them for 18's. I'll need new tires sooner than later and figure rubber will be cheaper in 18's... until I pull the trigger and lift it and put aftermarket rolling stock on it.

2016 Ford F150 Factory Bedliner Removal and Replacement with Line X - YouTube
That's pretty shocking to see such a difference. My factory Nissan bedliner was very rugged, I use my trucks for work and never had any issues with it. I'm not sure of the difference between what it would have been and what Ford does.
The dealer that I just bought my F150 from said they send their trucks directly to LineX when a customer wants a spray in liner, so that is reassuring. I would think they must get some sort of wholesale pricing due to volume, so I think when the time comes, I will just go thru my dealer.
Thanks for sharing the video and info!
