Hi everyone. I haven't purchase an F150 yet but going to do so in the very near future. I am looking for a 2004-2006 Supercrew with the 5.4 and towing package. I am getting back into SCCA racing after being off for a few years and want a dependable tow vehicle for a light race car. The F150 is very high on my list with the Nissan a distant second.

And thanks Jon for straightening me out with my registration.

whitecrystal1,

I also heard that the Nissan has weak brakes. Just that point alone move the F150 way out in front.

I will say these trucks tow very well. I tow my boat and it's around 6500lbs with no trouble at all. My truck is rated to tow either 8200 or 8800lbs.

I've found out that once you know how to use a trailer brake it helps a lot.

Do you have one Whitecrystal?

In my opinion, trailer brakes are a must. I have towed with and with out them. I won't tow any more unless I have trailer brakes.

Yep, When I bought my boat it didn't come with a trailer so when I ordered it I has the manufacture put electric breaks on it instead of surge. I installed the controller in the truck. Here is my load if you didn't already see it in the other post.

and my break controller
