Being a regular and contributing member.

Have a 2013 F150 STX that I have already been working on a number of mods on.

Pics to follow! A number of other forums for me (in this case....QuattroWorld for Audi) have been awesome! Finding the same here in what I have just "read from the shadows" thus far...

A little bit of a story behind the truck.

We lost my dad suddenly last year. About as "sudden" as it could happen. I have to say, when I go some day, I hope that it is as quick and painless as it was for him...

Anyways, the truck was his originally and I've decided to take it on. I moved away from home (my wife and I are both teachers) about 10 years ago. We were just blessed with our first child last year (about 3 months before he passed). My dad and I were best friends. We worked on things around the house, built stuff and he is responsible for getting into cars (we were both be air-cooled fans, led to VW, etc.).

Anyways, in those last 10 years, 3 hr has separated us and made those connections harder to keep. In the fall of 2013 on Halloween he made the split decision to finally take the dive on a new truck. Was hard to believe... he was someone who took ALOT of time to buy a new vehicle and the dealer made him an offer he couldn't refuse on his 2013 F150 STX 5.0.

Here it is as he sent it to me that day...

Was very proud of it that day and babied it putting very few miles on it through the winter, etc. However, the last few great trips I remember with my dad were in that truck were we spent a few hours. One was our last "adventure"/excursion into the classic car world up in the Rochester, NY area. He wanted to go pick up a engine from a Franklin that he got for a scream and wanted to have as a spares unit for eventually someday redoing his Franklin Model 125 (that I will do someday). Was a great day. We had great conversations, got to see a TON of great classics being restored and just enjoyed the ride in that truck. Kept remarking how much better the truck's ride has gotten over the years compared to the 1978 chevy I learned in and a 89 we had as well.

Fast forward...and its kinda the reason I have it. I get a feeling of comfort in it and I think about how proud he was of the truck and just have kinda taken to it. Felt, it was appropriate.

Have already started in on the tasteful modding which I will detail in another thread but thus far have added...

-SCT iTSX Tuner with 5* Tunes
-Magnaflow cat-back stainless steel exhaust at stock exit
-S&B intake
-Bilstein 5100 Leveling Kit
-Upgraded stock XM/CD unit to a Pioneer NEX 6000 unit with CarPlay using a Maestro RR to retain all stock functions (but do have Sync disabled)
-Access LiteRider Tonneau
-built my own retrofitted HIDs headlights using a spare set of halogen units. Moriomoto control harness, Mini D2s 3.0, orbit shrouds finished in two tone (blue flame and black), blacked out housings, LED markers, etc)
-Moriomoto XB 6k LED fogs (amazing units)
-OEM chrome running boards were removed and powder coated black
-Fortin remote start off OEM fob...

and the list of what I'd like to do continue. Keep contemplating wheel choices but really kind of like the stock STX rims and at the moment (since I'm not in love with anything else) I am contemplating putting a set of 33" or 35's on the stockers for a more aggressive winter tire.
