New guy from Maine.. opinions/help needed.
Hey everyone,
I just joined this site a few days ago; after spending lots of time reading other people threads i figured i'd give it a try. Im hoping to get some help on some mods i wanna do to my truck. I recently bought a 97 f150 4x4 with 77k miles on it, right now it is completely bone stock.
I wanna crank up my t-bars and put 285's under it. how many times should i crank my torsion bars, 3 rotations?
Also, does anyone have any experience running retreaded tires. I have been looking for some cheap mud-terrains, and the Guard Dog M/T's (approx. 33.3") from treadwright.com have been the cheapest ive found. I have seen mixed reviews from these tires, way more good than bad. I dont do any real hard core mudding or rock climbing..but it does it the trails a bit in the fall and spring. Just trying to get an opinion from some people who have had them compared to brand new mud terrains.
Ill try and get pictures up as soon as i can.
Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't trust the life of a passenger to retreaded tires. A retread is an old tire carcus cut down and new tread vulcanized to the old carcus. One just doesn't know how long that tire laid out there in the snow pile. I see an awful lot of treads thrown off 18 wheelers onto the interstate every summer in hot weather especially. I don't think they use retreads anymore, but?
