Just stumbled across this forum been driving f150's since 08. I just took a new job and had to buy my own truck. I have been in a company truck since 2005. I made the change from service to sales in 2010 that's when I was put in my first company F150 although I owned an 08 150 for personal use until 10. So I have had a 08,10,13 and 15. I really liked the 13 and was going to buy it out from the company but put it on its lid back in January in a 100 car pile up. It had 123,000 on the clock. They replaced it with a 15 and wow was I impressed with the 5.0. All my trucks had the crew cab with 5.0, 6.5 box and 3:73 rear. Are trucks were replaced every 3 years with about 150k on them.
So it came time for me to move on to a new company and had to purchase my own truck. I looked pretty hard at the Chevy's, liked they way the road and some of the options in the truck. The 5.3 motor seemed like a dog compared to the 5.0 so that was a major hangup. Then off to the Ford dealer found a truck that fit the bill 5.0 crew cab, 6.5 box but I could not find one as well equipped with the 3:73 and settled with the 3:31. So torn with what to buy I decided to go with the Ford as I know that I was getting 150k out of them with no problems. I pick the new 150 Monday just hope I don't regret the rear end.
