Just wanted to say hi. Don’t own an F150 yet but have been looking at them. Finally convinced the wife it is ok to get out of our 3row suv and go to a truck. We pull a #3200 pop up and seems like every time we go, by time we load up wood, cooler, and junk, we just don’t have enough room in the mid-size suv. So, we went and looked at a screw truck. Have owned two Explorers in the past and they have been good suv’s. The wife says I can’t get one until I get the camper paid off, but I am working on her. The deals on the 14’sare looking pretty good right now. Although maybe they will look better closer to the end of the year or after the first of the year after the 15’s drop. I have to admit, the 15’s look awesome, but if I could get a good deal on a 14, I think we could be just fine with it. I do know I want a screw, 4x4 XLT. Drove the 5.0 which will be ok. Not opposed to the 3.5 and would consider it but just thinking that most of my driving is in town so will I make up that difference in the cost of the engine? Not sure. And I like how the 5.0 sounded. Anyways, just joining so I can learn all I can because I have never owned a truck and not really sure what all the numbers mean with payload, but I am learning. From what I have learned here and another forum I think the 3.55 axle will be more than enough towing for my pop up and even to upgrade to a larger travel trailer at some point if we decide to do so and still load up the back end with camping gear.
