Default New Ford guy

Hello all. I recently bought my buddies 1990 F-150 4x4 that had been sitting for awhile. This is my first Ford. I really do not know much about Fords at all It has about 160,000 miles on it and is pretty good shape. I will need to get the AC fixed and the power window motors are starting to go. Where do I look to find out the details on this truck. (i.e. axles, transfer case, etc). Any info would be great.

Great website by the way.

Benny.

welcome, can't think of a site to track down your specs, but i'm pretty sure you have a dana 44 front diff and a 8.8" ford rear diff. transfer case could be a borg-warner 1356.what engine and tranny you got? check your driver's door jamb for a sticker, look under transmission for a code. K=C6 E=E4OD and a T or U=AOD also if you have the AOD, your selection will look like this. P R N OD D 1, if you have a button on the end of your shifter you have the E4OD. if it's a standard, it's probably the M5R2.

those should help narrow down what you have on your truck a little bit.

Welcome.. The window motors are easy to fix. They usually have little plastic ***** that break and these can be replaced.

Thanks for the info, it will really help out. I have the OD button on the dash not on the shifter.

I have one year to fix this beast up until my sons drives. It really doesn't need much work. The motor seems to be strong! It runs great. Thanks for the advise.

Benny.
