how do i reset it? i dont wanna blow 100$ on finding out it was something i couldve put off for a while. I think ive read i just touch the negative battery tong to the positive terminal for a few seconds to reset it?

Yeah you can do that to reset the computer but the SES light will more than likely come back if something is wrong. Which is generally the case when it comes on in the first place.

okay thanks, im gonna give that a shot and if the light comes back on then ill get it diagnosed next weekend and find out whats going on. Ill post the code here when i get it if somethings going on, i suspect its on because of the alterations done to the exhaust system.

Prolly. If the cat is off of it. Get a tuner and you can turn off the emission control codes and take that power robbing crap off.

A tuner sounds good, all i know about them is the expected results, beyond running a search on this site (ill be doing that as soon as i get off work) for information on tuners, are there any websties or places you know of that have some good info on it?
