Got myself a 2016 XLT 2.7 2wd over the holidays in Texas. It absolutely had no trouble towing a Hyundai Santa Fe back to SC and got 15.5 mpg at 70 mph. Now I just need to keep away from doing anything to it.. thats what the jeep is for haha. The truck is the DD/tow rig.

Nice! got any pics of it? I had a beater jeepspeed XJ for a little bit... and by 'jeepspeed' I mean we jumped and bombed dirt roads in a 2wd with no doors or exhaust on it for $200 haha. I wish I lived out west to actually go play in the desert.
