New arrival, and can we pull a 10,000 lb trailer?
Bubba Ray Lewis dropping by to introduce myself.
I took my wife out truck shopping last week. I made us come home with a 2016 Ford F150 3.5 EcoBoost with 3.31 differential, supercab, 145 inch wheelbase, 4X4 drive, and "ELEC 6-SPEED AUTO W/TOW MOD". We made sure the dealership/salespeople knew that we intend to pull a 10,000 lb. GVWR travel trailer all across the U.S.A.
After getting home and reading over everything, and then scouring forums like yours, and Ford sites, and chatting with Ford folks, I wonder if we got what we needed.
We don't know if this vehicle has a full tow package. It does have the class IV trailer hitch, 4 pin/7 pin wiring harness and the TOW MOD(whatever that is). Don't know if the TOW MOD means the truck has the auxiliary transmission oil cooler and/or the front stabilizer bar. The GVWR is 7,050. The payload is 2,036 lbs. We figured out that the GCWR is 16,000 lbs.
Based on this, can we still pull a 10,000 lb trailer?

No F150 made can tow 10,000 pounds. You need a 250/350.
