New 2015 F150
Ive been trying to decide on either the RAM 1500 EcoDiesel or Ford F150 for the last 2 weeks. I almost bought the RAM 1500 and the morning I was going to make the decision i got an email from Ford letting me know I had a $1000 Private Cash offer, I got that from requesting an F150 brochure (found that tip here, Thanks F150 Forum!).
So I test drove the 2.7 again and I do like the Power from that little engine but I have been burned before with 1st generation vehicles. When i found the dealer had an F150 XLT with a 5.0 V8 and 3.73 gears I made up my mind. I really like the 5.0 and love the sound of the V8.
Power wise they seemed similar from a dead stop, with the 2.7 geared with 3.55s and the 5.0 having 3.73s but once you got up to highway speeds the 5.0 seemed to have more passing power for some reason??
Here it is:
2015 F150 XLT:
5.0 V8 Engine
302A
3.73 Electric Locker
Trailer Tow Package
20" Six Spoke Painted Alum Wheels
36G Fuel Tank
XLT Sport Appearance Package
Kicker Subwoofer

Thanks! I keep putting it in sport mode and getting on the skinny pedal to hear the engine... I'm afraid the 5.0 or V8s in general will be going away in our future so I might as well enjoy it now while gas is cheap.

That's one beautiful truck. I love the setup with those 3:73 gears. I knew the Eco's would be faster and I don't tow very much. I just couldn't pass up the V8, its sound, and its potential. Good luck with it and enjoy!

Thank you everyone, I'm enjoying the truck. Still trying to get used to the size of this thing when parking and backing out. I swear this F150 is the same size or larger than my old 77 Dodge 3/4 ton Power Wagon.
