Cool New 2005 F150 Owner

Hey! Picked up a 2005 F150 XLT w/ 75k miles on Wednesday. It is white, 4x4, extended cab (btw what is the official term for this? super cab?), 5.4. Right now it is bone stock, except I think it has a leveling kit on it.

Before I bought it I had it checked out by my mechanic. He said the cam phasers were going. I used that to talk down the price and got it for such a good price that I was able to have the cam phasers, gaskets and plugs replaced and still came in under low blue book. They also flashed it with the latest firmware. Truck drives amazing.

Today I picked up a Kenwood DDX14 head unit, reverse camera plate frame, Kicker 6x8's, and have an old 12" sub w/ 700watt amp to put in.

I have a Saleen grill on the way and plan on doing a muffler (undecided between Flowmaster 40 or Magnaflow) and nice tip. Going to do the Gotts mod and drop in K&N filter. Looking into the eFans and UD pulleys.

I've been big into the mustang scene for a while. I have a 2003 Mach 1 that puts down 570rwhp. Got the truck to haul my Yamaha YZ250.

Right now I frequent SVTP and Mach1Registry, but have recently added F150Forum to my rotation.

Look forward to being a part of the community

I like the sound of the Flowmaster too, but I don't want ANY drone nor do I want it too loud. I have the stang if I want to be loud, haha, that thing is crazy. I just want the truck to have a nice smooth tone. Everything I read about the Flows is that they drone.

Really? Man, maybe I'll just leave it stock and put a nice tip on it, lol.
