although I have always tried to do my own mechanical, any more the vehicles have steadily gotten more complex, so the old shade tree mechanic doesn't apply anymore, what used to keep a engine from starting was either fuel or spark, now there's so many sensors that control those things , that a set of plugs and points and a new fuel filter doesn't work anymore, I have 94 F150xl with a 300 cid (4.9 L) six with a Mazda 5 speed transmission, the truck has a lot of miles but it runs like new doesn't burn any oil and drives like a new truck, but it is fuel injected and electronic ignition, so I need a little help keeping her running good, latest thing is that when I start it cold it revs fairly high for about 10 seconds and then idles down fine, it just started doing this so it's probably something simple, but not sure where to start, any ideas??
