Default Need Help

I have a 1998 F150 4x2 4.6L. The engine stalls at low idle when shifting from Park or Neutral into Drive and Reverse. It starts fine in Park and Neutral and runs okay once the throttle is depressed. It will also stall when stopping at a stop sign or traffic signal. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be.

Clean the throttle body and IAC motor. I reccomend a BG inductiojn service too.

Just thought of something else. Does it feel like popping the clutch when it shuts off or does it just die?

It just dies. Gives a little of what sounds like a 'carbon knock' as it's dieing.

If cleaning the throttle body dosen't fix it. Attach a fuel pressure gauge to it and watch it when it dies. See if the fuel pressure dropps off then it dies.
