Default Might buy my first Ford Saturday morning

Howdy guys/gals!

I'm on here to get a second opinion and to ensure my theories are correct regarding the purchase of a used F-150. This'll be my first Ford as I grew up Chevy. As I said in my other post, both manufacturers are good, both make good trucks.

As my user name hints, I'm a crew chief on A-10's... Well, I was, then I became an instructor of crew chiefs on A-10s... No longer instructing, but flying a desk.

I've got pretty good mechanical ability when it comes to cars, trucks, motorcycles, and aircraft. Although, each vehicle has it's own idiosyncrasies... which is why these forums are so invaluable.

If I purchase this '97 F-150, with some serious cooling issues, I might be hitting you guys up again for specifics. I'm pretty sure it's a radiator/transmission issue. Hopefully the engine hasn't gotten too hot and the transmission isn't toast. I'm fairly certain the engine is still in good shape. The jury is still out on the transmission, which is why I'm going to look at it again tomorrow and possibly buy it for a great price.

Wish me luck on my first potential Ford purchase....

Welcome from SoCal Chief. Depending on what motor is in the truck you may want to steer clear of this one. Go to the search bar and punch in the motor size and year and see what comes up. Good luck. Thanks for securing my freedom.
