hey everyone

I would first like to thank you guys for passing on all your years of experience and foul mouth lol...
I know if I'm going to tackle any repairs I always find some good write ups
on here. Two things I will getting done this weekend will be the right side manifold replacement and toying with adding amber/white switch back lights to my tow mirrors....

Well I gave it a dose of penetrant yesterday and plan on soaking it daily till Saturday. I'm really hoping on getting away with no broken studs. But it's in pretty bad shape... but I do have a welder and some nuts standing by incase it turns into grinding some nuts off.

Poked away at it last night and managed to get two of them. It became clear that grinders or any other cutting device would be the long road.... so oxy acetylene to the rescue!! Torched off all the heads as well as the upper y pipe bolt. I could not find a way to get any kind of socket and rachet combo in let alone get some tourqe on it. I had to extract 6 studs and it was a breeze with a pair of vise grips. I didn't remove the starter because the two lower bolts to it faught the whole way off, once I located the top one I knew I was gonna loose that battle lol. But the manifold and studs are out so all in all is was a successful two evenings. I'll post pic's tomorrow and do a full write some time in the near future.
