Default Long time Ford Owner - First Time 1985 F150 Owner

Hi All!

Looking forward to learning and contributing to this forum. I just picked up this 1985 F150 v8 302 EFI and am going to need to get my hands dirty.

I think this truck looks awesome, what are your plans for it?

Smile confused in Michigan

Hi, I am new here as well and not very computer smart. I just signed up and am not finding where I actually make a post to ask a question about my truck. Anyone able to guide me to that spot on this page?
Thanks

I've not thought too far into what i'm going to do with it, but some of the low hanging items are:
  • Fix fuel, temp, and oil pressure gauges
  • Gas tank leaks
  • Previous owner installed a wood bed and it wasn't fastened correctly
  • Standard maintenance (oil, coolant, bleed brakes)
  • Interior needs redoing (Cracked dash, red interior with ripped seats, no radio or speakers, door panels)

No relative order - just things to tinker with over time.

I drove it an hour the other day on back roads and the interstate - so it handles itself well and rides smooth at 55-65mph. Until I figure it out more, not sure i'll haul anything with it yet or do anything but in town trips.

Sounds like a mix between some not too hard jobs and some bigger ones. Makes sense to drive it a while and get to know it better before you do anything big to it. Good luck!
