I just purchased a 08 F150 4wd. It is a flex fuel truck with the Triton 5.4. I've owned it less than a week and it now has the cam phase issue. I came upon this site while doing research on repairs and cost. I brought it to the dealer who told me the fix is a new engine for 8K!
This is the first Ford truck I've owned. It has 170k miles but looks very nice. The deal said everything else is good and looks well maintained except the cam phasers. So, I'm hoping for another 150k after I fix these phasers myself.
Any other consistent issues I should lookout for?
BTW: I already found helpful information here. Thanks!

Welcome from SoCal. I'm sure you will get this fixed w/o any problems. Fords have issues like any other brand, so don't let this ruin your new truck experience. Good luck
