Default Be patient

Read the Sync book. I was a little annoyed at the beginning. Just tell sync bluetooth media player. I use pandora on my phone and it works great...

The Ecoboost engine sold me on the F150. This thing is a rocket. I waited until after Christmas and didn't have much choice of 2011 models. I landed a black truck without a chrome package, but with the Microsoft Synch system, which is by far the weakest part of the truck. The interface is embarrassingly bad, and the software is inexcusably buggy. The system takes 65 seconds to reindex my iPod Classic every time I start the truck, and even then it will not display track information unless I wade through nine levels of menus and hit the forward button to return to the last track listened. Quite frankly, the project manager in charge of Synch should be fired; at both Microsoft and Ford. There is no excuse for this software making it to alpha release, much less getting in the public's hands.

I am researching replacement stereos. Synch does not work as advertised, and I am not going to live with its annoyances and interface faults.

At least the truck takes off and launches into hyperspace when I press the Go pedal.

Edit: Reading this post again it sounds like I hate my truck. I do not. It is an excellent truck. I believe it is the best truck on the market, obviously, or I would have purchased another brand. I need to be careful to not look for excuses to drive it, what with gas at $3/gal.

Don, the iPod Classic is not a Bluetooth device. This is a known issue with the Synch software, and is inexcusable for a public release. The Synch interface is terrible even by Microsoft standards. There is little consistency in navigating menus. Some menus use the tuning **** to navigate, some use the forward and back buttons. Any automobile radio that needs a quarter pound manual is far too complicated to operate safely while driving. The Alpine took about two minutes to figure out without opening the (thin) manual.
