IMA VIRGIN (well, not any more)
Greetings....
I've always wanted a Ford truck with 4-wheel drive. Could never afford a nice ride. Decided along the way that when I did get a Ford it would be NICE!! Well I finally got my cherry popped.
It's a '95 with a five speed and 4.9L with 143k + miles on it. I've had it for almost a month and there have been some OPP's showing up. The first was the slave and master clutch cylinders. Even though I bought it cash AS-IS from a dealer. They offered to repair it free of charge since I had only had it a couple of days. That was very nice of them, legally they didn't have to. I guess since I paid cash they want future business.
Second is that I can't shift to 4lo (another thread).
Third is that the front horizontal brake line snapped at the frame on the drivers side.
Fourth is that two days ago I stalled out and it wouldn't start. After it cooled down it fired up again. I had noticed that the coolant overflow tank was bone dry when the engine was hot. After I topped off the radiator (1/4 gallon) I filled the overflow only to find a crack in the tank. It holds about two inches of coolant. Nothing some epoxy won't cure. I'm assuming there is a coolant sensor somewhere.
Anyway, I'm in it for the long haul and the truck is nice and still looks brand new. Not bad for being twelve years old.
