Default Howdy from the "Frozen North"

I thought it might be polite to introduce myself to the gang. I'm John and I live in south-central Ontario...the land of snow and I took delivery three days ago of a 99 F150XL SC 4x4 short box with the 4.6l and what appears to be a factory towing package. The truck has a class lll hitch, 7 pin trailer plug on a factory bracket with a factory plug and front hooks. Looks original to me???

I'm a long timer Jeep guy who suddenly needed this pickup for bigger loads than a Cherokee can carry (we live on a 100 acre property and I'm tired of pulling a trailer in some bad conditions when I really don't need to).

So far a good deal of what I have read here has given me the info to correct minor problems as well as "How To" stuff I'm out of touch with on Fords (the last one I owned was an old cop car 25 years ago). I am sure I will be in for a lot more learn'in here.

Thanks very much for the welcome guys. I learn a bit more every time I log in here or play with the truck so the price of membership was well worth it.

Triton, The F150 is indeed a nice upgrade but the Jeeps never go away...they just get repurposed. Right now we have 3 Cherokees, a Toyota 4wd wagon, a Cadillac, a new Subaru for the wife and the F150. It's good to have "Tinker Toys".

Tinker Toys....LOL I agree with you there. I've seen some Jeeps do some amazing things off-road. I know what they're capable of and love seeing them do what they do best.
