Cut it off and weld a new one on since its not one of the crossmembers that run completely through the frame.

How is a bent bracket like that fixed? Since it is mounted to the frame?

I still don't see how it bent. How fast did you hit this bump?

Was going slow. Less than 5 mph. Was a concrete bridge on a gravel road. Rain washed out a hole at the end of the bridge. Gravel was burmed up so couldnt see the hole. Drivers side dipped into hole and passenger side made contact at bracket. hit the edge of the concrete i believe. Hole was deep but not noticeable because of the lay of the road.

I'd definitely take it in then. Something isn't quite adding up.

you could see if the dealer would cover it. if not, dont worry too much, I doubt it did any other damage...thats what its there for, so you hit that and not the trans. Then spray paint it black so it doesnt start to rust.

Thanks LT95. Love my Ford. Never had this kind of thing happen before. Is it true that the mount and transmission crossmember would be replaced if i had my truck lifted?
