Hello all,
In the midst of our first blizzard of the year. ..I guess my 2WD 2006 F-150 Lariat, will have to sit this one out for a while. And to think, two years I made a special effort to find and purchase a mint 2WD truck to pull my car trailer, figuring it never really snows that much on Long Island. Ha! Joke was on me as it's snowed like hell over the past two years that I've owned the truck and the gas mileage on the 5.4 pretty much stinks anyway, 2WD or not. Am thinking about the new Ecoboost, which I test drove last week.. Gorgeous loaded Lariat that ran like a rocket ship..what's there not to like. The actual mileage will tell the story though. A few friends of mine also test drove (different trucks) and none of us were able to get any mileage over 14.9 MPG and that was on a "Last five minute average" taken after really babying the truck....time will tell. Nothing rides like a late model 150, though, and if not for the gas mileage, it would be my daily driver.
