Post Hello from McDonough, GA

Hi Folks
Potential truck owner in the making.
I always owned and driven only sedans and SUVs. But recently I just started thinking about buying a truck. My first and only choice was/is a Ford F150.

Why? Well why go with anything else than the best selling product.

The truck which I plan to buy is not going be a commuter but just for weekends and for occasional trips to Home Depot or Pike's.

I have been looking on AutoTrader for last few weeks to get ideas on what I can afford and different options I have when it comes to variants. I really like the XLT Crew cabs.

When it comes to buying a used F150, I do have few questions (since I am a newb on trucks).

Is it ok to go with a 2012-2013?
Is 100k+ miles on a truck, something to worry about?
What key things should I be looking for, when I am shopping for a used truck?

All and any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Welcome! My opinion is most any year would have worked for you. I use a 1993 for the Lowe's trips. Your truck looks great.

When looking for a used truck I seek one as close to stock as possible with complete service records. Anything leveled, lifted, lowered, removed badges, aftermarket exhaust, cold-air intake, tuned, aftermarket wheels, etc, makes me personally wonder how well the installation was done and how hard the truck was driven or used off-road.
