I am new here and new to Ford trucks. I bought my first Ford F150 5.0 2011 last January. I am from Louisiana and we just bought our first camper also. Now to hook up a brake controller. Any ideals on how to hook it up? It does have a towing package. Thanks to all members. Glad to be here.

Welcome. Sounds like an awesome truck. I think you can have the regular tow package and not have the integrated TBC. My 2012 has the regular tow package and the TBC, but the TBC is listed as an extra option on the window sticker. From what I have heard you will have aftermarket options but I think you could get then Ford TBC still. The Ford TBC is preferable in my opinion if at all possible since it will integrate with other things on your truck like the trailer away control system. Might want to ask your dealer what your options from them are and start there. Good luck and enjoy!

I found a plug that is to the right side of the computer plug where they run checks. It was taped up out of the way and it had a blank capping it off. I think this may be it. I know I pulled the small tray as it showed in one of the videos and there was nothing. So I think this may be it. Sure looks like a lot of wires but I am sure they have a plug made to reduce it down to what the brake controller uses.
