Greetings from Northern NY
I have lurked for a couple of months and decided to sign up.
I bought a 2012 F150 XLT, back in February, mainly for camper towing. So far I have not been disappointed.
It had less than 18K miles on it when I took possession. Pretty good for the year.
It is a bone stock truck and I plan on keeping it that way. I can upgrade, if necessary, as stuff breaks or wears out. The only thing added is a tri-fold tonneau cover.
The only thing I don't really like is the Goodyear SRA tires. Those will be changed next year. I have not decided what to replace them with.
Me? Retired US Army, but still working. Still have two teenage boys in school and at home. They tell me I am an all around great guy, but I think they lie so I will buy them stuff and take them hunting and fishing.

That's what I figured, you say "Army" and "NNY" in the same sentence and... yup.
Yeah, familiar. I grew up in Watertown. I live in Virginia Beach now.

I got here in 1996. You probably wouldn't even recognize it anymore. The change, just in the last ten years, is crazy.
I actually live outside Carthage. I like it here, but I just can't see myself blowing snow into my seventies. I am thinking about somewhere in Southwestern Virginia.
I have family all up and down the East Coast....Virginia would put me in a fairly central location.
I have a sister that lives in Gainesville, Va.

I hate how much it's changed. I moved away in 2008 (was 21) and joined the Navy in 2009. I loved how "small town" it was. Now it's full of chain store BS and I hear there's heroin running rampant up there.

Yeah....the hard drugs are there and so is the crime and violence that go with them. That is one of the reasons I only go to Watertown when I can't avoid it.
Having been away from home myself for 38 years, I can tell you....you can never go home......it is just never the same. It is nice to see the familiar faces though.
