Hello everyone. I'm waiting on a built to order 2015 XLT. Max tow, moon roof, 3.5L Ecoboost, spray in liner, mirror and bed lights, 6.5 ft bed, and probably others I'm forgetting!
I'm coming from a 2006 Tacoma with 136k on it right now, and the F150 has so many of the things I wish my Tacoma had after owning it for 9 years (and my needs changing)!
Lighting was always a challenge with the Tacoma. No box lights (3rd brake light or under rail), no exterior lights like the puddle lights. The 5ft box did the job, but I had to add my own D-rings to strap things down after stacking higher. It became a real pain when we bought our first house and all the building materials were 8ft or longer. Even with the tailgate down everything hung off the back, and support became an issue.
It really amazes me how much bigger and more powerful the F150 is, yet is rated for better MPG than the Tacoma. I know real world numbers don't match up, but my 4.0 V6 Tacoma gets 17-18mpg regardless of what I do (that's up 1 after swapping the air filter years ago). It also has 129HP and 280ft-lbs of torque less than the F150. So even if I get the same as the Tacoma it'll be impressive.
I'm also impressed with all the tech inside. Individual tire PSI instead of a flashing light, AUX in, Blue Tooth, trip computers, sway control, lighted storage bins. Things it seems Toyota just doesn't think about (this is my 4th Toyota, and none of them had all of these features). Hell, just the way the rear seats fold up leaving a flat surface to stack boxes or tools on is awesome! The trailer harness located in the bumper means it won't get torn off in the first week like the Tacoma because Toyota put the 7-pin under the bumper. Power rear slider means I'll actually open it!
I ordered on the 3/18, and I've been going nuts waiting for tracking information!
I can only hope it really lives up to the hype in their torture tests!

Thanks guys! I'm getting impatient waiting! Also, I think the power steering pump on my truck is going so I really want to trade it before more I put any more money into it.
Oddly enough, I just sent some work to some guys at St. Vincent's hospital in Jacksonville. lol

You mean this? Thanks! I'm a "one trip" kind of guy, and I'm used to maximizing space in the smaller bed.
Also, to update my original post, I'm actually getting close to the EPA numbers! I'm averaging 18+ MPG and have seen 20-23 MPG alone a 100 mile trip through small towns and back country, no highway and no more than 60mph!
